Dr. Barbara Schwartzberg, Co-Founder of Western Surgical Care, received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Franklin and Marshall College and a master’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Purdue University. Her medical degree was obtained from George Washington University.

Dr. Schwartzberg moved to Denver, Colorado in 1985. She completed her general surgery residency and a pediatric surgery/transplant fellowship at the University of Colorado in 1990. She has settled into private practice at Rose Medical Center, where she has specialized in diseases of the breast and breast cancer. She was the first female medical staff president. She is an Associate Clinical Professor in General Surgery at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Schwartzberg spends her free time with her husband and border collie enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and skiing. She enjoys making pottery and is a member of the Colorado Pottery Guild.
